Char Dham Pilgrimage
The full Kedarnath–Badrinath yatra for families and pilgrimage groups. Online registration is mandatory for both shrines; we handle this along with helicopter or pony bookings once your dates are confirmed. Runs only May to October — the shrines are closed the rest of the year.
Day by day
Arrive and Ganga Aarti
Arrive by flight into Dehradun or overnight train, drive to Haridwar (35 km, 1 hour). Rest, then attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Har-ki-Pauri. This is also when we hand over your Char Dham registration confirmation and ID cards, which every pilgrim must carry throughout the yatra.
Rishikesh and preparation
Morning temple visits in Haridwar, then a short drive to Rishikesh (25 km). Afternoon at Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, evening aarti at Triveni Ghat. Use today to buy any warm clothing or trekking essentials you're missing — Rishikesh has better shops for this than the towns ahead.
Towards Kedarnath
Long mountain drive to Guptkashi (or Sonprayag/Sitapur, closer to the trek base), about 200 km, 8–9 hours through Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. Roads are narrow with hairpin bends; we schedule an early 6 am start and a lunch halt at Rudraprayag. Overnight to be fresh for the Kedarnath leg.
Kedarnath darshan
Drive to Sonprayag then a shared taxi to Gaurikund (5 km), the actual trek start. From Gaurikund it is 16 km to Kedarnath (3,583 m) — on foot (6–8 hours for a fit adult), by pony/palki (₹4,000–8,000 one way, arranged locally), or by helicopter from Phata or Guptkashi (20–25 minutes each way, seats limited and booked months ahead in season). Darshan at the temple, overnight near the shrine in basic pilgrim accommodation or a GMVN guesthouse.
Return from Kedarnath
Early darshan if not done the previous evening, then descend the same way you came up — trek, pony or helicopter. Groups walking down should start by 7 am to reach Gaurikund before dark. Drive back to Guptkashi/Sitapur for a comfortable night's rest.
On to Badrinath
Drive to Badrinath, about 200 km, 8–9 hours via Joshimath, passing Vishnuprayag and the Alaknanda valley. Unlike Kedarnath, Badrinath temple sits right by the road, so no trek is needed — a significant relief after the previous two days. Evening darshan and aarti at the temple.
Descend towards the plains
Early morning darshan at Badrinath (queues build quickly after 8 am), a stop at Mana village — the last Indian village before the Tibet border — and then a long drive down to Rudraprayag or straight through to Rishikesh (about 290 km, 9–10 hours from Badrinath to Rishikesh; most groups break the drive at Rudraprayag or Srinagar-Garhwal).
Rest day and Rishikesh sightseeing
A deliberately light day after the yatra. Ram Jhula, Parmarth Niketan ghat, and an optional short rafting stretch for those who want it (Brahmpuri to Rishikesh, mild grade, suitable for most ages). Evening aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Niketan.
Fly or train home
Drive to Dehradun airport (about 45 km from Rishikesh, 1–1.5 hours) or to Haridwar railway station. We schedule this around your confirmed flight or train once booked.
