Day by day
Arrive and climb into the hills
Fly Ahmedabad–Kochi, drive to Munnar (4 hours) with a lunch stop. Rest on arrival.
Tea Museum and lakes
A gentle day: Tea Museum, a short estate walk, Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake by car. Back at the hotel by 4 pm.
Eravikulam or a free day
Optional early trip to Eravikulam National Park for those who want it; others enjoy the hotel, the town market and a spice shop visit. Ayurveda massage can be arranged.
Houseboat
Drive down to Alleppey (170 km, 5 hours — the longest drive of the trip, with a break at Kottayam). Board the houseboat by 1 pm; the afternoon is spent cruising.
To the coast
Disembark at 9 am and drive south to Kovalam (160 km, 4 hours). Check into a beach resort. Evening walk on Lighthouse Beach.
Beach day
No plans. Pool, beach, Ayurveda, a boat ride at Poovar backwaters for those who want a half-day outing.
Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Morning darshan at Padmanabhaswamy Temple (dhoti/saree provided; darshan timings 3:30–4:45 am, 6:30–7 am, 8:30–10 am, 10:30–11:10 am, 11:45 am–12 pm, 5–6:15 pm, 6:45–7:20 pm). Napier Museum and Kanakakunnu Palace gardens afterwards. Back to the resort for a last evening.
Fly home
Thiruvananthapuram airport is 15 km from Kovalam. Flights to Ahmedabad are usually one-stop via Mumbai or Bengaluru.
