Day by day
Arrive and settle in
One-stop flight lands by afternoon; check in and rest. Evening walk around the Meenakshi Temple streets and a Tamil thali dinner.
Meenakshi Amman darshan
Early morning darshan at Meenakshi Amman Temple before the crowds. Afternoon at Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace. Return for the 9:30 pm night ceremony when the deity is taken in procession to Sundareswarar's shrine.
Land's end
Drive to Kanyakumari (240 km, about 5 hours). Evening at the shore for sunset, and a walk to the Kumari Amman Temple before it closes.
Sunrise and the Rock Memorial
Early sunrise viewing at the shore (weather permitting; overcast mornings are common). Ferry across to Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue (ferries run 8 am–4 pm, subject to sea conditions — carry a light shawl for the boat spray). Drive on to Rameshwaram (330 km, about 6–7 hours) with a lunch stop; a long day, best started by 10 am.
Jyotirlinga and theertham snan
Agni Theertham sea bath and darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple, then the 22 theertham snan inside the temple with a change of clothes. Afternoon trip to Dhanushkodi and the Pamban Bridge viewpoint by jeep, and Kothandaramaswamy Temple on the return.
Srirangam and Rockfort
Drive to Trichy (170 km, 4 hours). Afternoon darshan at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam, walking the outer prakaras and thousand-pillar hall. Evening at Rockfort for the climb to Uchi Pillayar and sunset views.
Brihadeeswarar Temple
Day trip to Thanjavur (55 km, about 1½ hours each way) for the Brihadeeswarar Temple, the Chola-era Big Temple with its 216-foot vimana. Visit the Thanjavur Palace and Saraswathi Mahal Library if time allows, then return to Trichy for the night. Morning stop at Jambukeswarar Temple, Thiruvanaikaval, can be added before or after if the group prefers.
Fly home
Leave for Trichy airport at least 3 hours before departure. Direct one-stop connections back to Ahmedabad are usually via Chennai or Bengaluru.
