Day by day
Up to Darjeeling
Our representative meets you at Bagdogra airport, NJP station or the Siliguri bus stand and drives about 105 km (3½–4 hours) to Darjeeling. Evening on the Mall.
Tiger Hill and the town
Tiger Hill sunrise (about 3:45 am), Ghoom monastery and Batasia Loop; after breakfast the zoo and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed Thursdays), the ropeway, Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee centre (closed Sundays), a tea estate and the Peace Pagoda.
Across to West Sikkim
Drive about 115 km (3–3½ hours) to Pelling, with views of the snow peaks on a clear day. Evening free near the helipad and market.
Lakes, falls and monasteries
Rimbi falls and rock garden, Khecheopalri lake and monastery, the Kanchenjunga waterfalls, Pemayangtse monastery and the Rabdentse ruins.
To Gangtok, half-day city tour
Drive to Gangtok and see the Directorate of Handicrafts, the Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten, Enchey monastery, White Hall and the flower show. Evening on MG Marg.
Into North Sikkim
Leave at about 10 am for Lachung (about 119 km, 5–6 hours, at about 8,600 ft), stopping at Tashi viewpoint, Naga falls, Chungthang and Bhim Nala falls. The Protected Area Permit is arranged in advance.
Yumthang valley
Drive up to the Yumthang valley (about 11,800 ft) with its hot spring, rhododendrons in spring and snow in winter. Back to Lachung for the monastery and waterfalls. Zero Point is extra and depends on the road.
Back to Gangtok
About 125 km (4–5 hours) via Singhik and Mangan, with Kanchenjunga views on a clear day. Evening on MG Marg.
Tsomgo lake and Baba Mandir
Full-day excursion to Tsomgo lake (about 12,300 ft) and Baba Mandir through the Kyongnosla sanctuary. Nathula, about 20 km further, is optional and extra.
Back to the plains
Drive about 135 km (4½–5 hours) to Bagdogra, NJP or Siliguri. Start early and allow time for traffic.
