Vietnam Signature — Saigon, Da Nang & Hanoi

The classic three-city trip, south to north, with the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong at one end and the Old Quarter at the other. Two short internal flights and enough leisure time built in that it does not feel like a route march.

7 nights / 8 days Route: Ho Chi Minh City (3 nights) – Da Nang & Hoi An (2 nights) – Hanoi (2 nights) From ₹1,05,000 per person, indicative

Good to know

Best months
October–April for Hanoi and Halong; February–August for Da Nang and Hoi An; December–April for Ho Chi Minh City. A north-to-south trip works best in February–April, when all three regions are dry at once
From Ahmedabad
No direct flight from Ahmedabad. One stop via Delhi, Mumbai, Bangkok, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur; total 9–13 hours depending on the connection
Veg & Jain food
Indian restaurants in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, plus Buddhist vegetarian (com chay) everywhere. Fish sauce is in most local dishes, so we book veg and Jain meals ahead
Good for
Families who have done Thailand or Bali and want more variety, honeymooners, photographers, and first-time long-haul travellers who want an easy visa

Day by day

Day 1
Ahmedabad → Ho Chi Minh City

Arrive in Saigon

Fly via Delhi, Mumbai or a South-East Asian hub. Met at Tan Son Nhat airport and transferred to a central hotel. The rest of the day is deliberately free — most arrivals land tired, and the city is best met after a rest. Dinner at an Indian restaurant.

Stay: Ho Chi Minh CityMeals: Dinner
Day 2
Ho Chi Minh City

The city and the tunnels

Morning tour: the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the French-era Central Post Office and Ben Thanh market. After lunch, drive out to the Cu Chi Tunnels for the introduction film and a walk through the widened sections, the kitchens and the trap doors. Back in the city for the evening.

Stay: Ho Chi Minh CityMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3
Mekong Delta day trip

Floating markets and Unicorn Island

Drive to My Tho and take a boat onto the Mekong, past the floating fish farms and out to Unicorn Island. A coconut candy workshop, a rowing boat through a palm-shaded canal, seasonal fruit and traditional southern music. Back to Ho Chi Minh City by evening.

Day 4
Ho Chi Minh City → Da Nang

Fly to the centre

Morning flight to Da Nang, about an hour and a half. Lunch on arrival, then the afternoon in Hoi An Ancient Town — the Japanese covered bridge, the assembly halls, the merchant houses and the handicraft shops. Evening lantern boat ride on the Hoai River.

Stay: Da NangMeals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5
Da Nang

Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

Early start for the cable car up to Ba Na Hills — one of the longest non-stop cable cars in the world — for the Golden Bridge, the French village and the gardens. Afternoon back at sea level for the Marble Mountains or simply the beach. Dragon Bridge in the evening if it is a weekend.

Stay: Da NangMeals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 6
Da Nang → Hanoi

North to the capital

Day 7
Hanoi

Old Quarter and Train Street

A slower day. The thirty-six streets of the Old Quarter on foot, Hoan Kiem Lake and the Turtle Tower, and Train Street timed for the pass. Afternoon free for shopping — lacquerware, silk, coffee and handicrafts are all better value here than in the south.
